I wanted something warm and yummy from the oven. I had no muffin mix, so I went out on a limb and made a coffee cake, using a recipe from Joy of Cooking(a wedding present from my sister, Rebecca). I don't experiment in the kitchen very often...some might say I am in a rut...to which I would say, "It keeps me on the road:)"
So here is the result.
Sour Cream Coffee Cake, with Apple/Raisin topping(which settled to the bottom):
The experience was frought (fraught? frot?) with apprehension and misgiving. I learned that the recipe for a 9x9 pan translates to 2 9 inch cake rounds, then it would not have spilled continously over the edges, which I did catch on a pizza pan under it :0
The end result, however, was indeed warm and yummy :)
