The last couple of weeks have been a marathon of exposure to the wilds of the these hills! We have tramped up and down and back up and across ridges and through coulees, in cow trails and cow tracks, stamping through sage brush and cactus and rocks and dirt, side-hilling ridges where I wouldn't even look down...just following Geoff, stepping, more often than not, right where he stepped, and more cactus and the crumbling dirt! It has been soooo great to get away from the road, as remote as our road is, and see what you can't see from it!
